Our Handcrafted Asian Calligraphy Cremation Urn is designed in an elegant shape, handmade and fired in the traditional method of Raku.
Included is up to 4 Asian characters hand-drawn and fired permanently onto the surface of the urn. Simply add a comment about the character(s) you would like in the box above or upload an image of the characters, or give us a call at 877-900-5309 or email us and we will provide a proof of the characters via email with an image of what will be placed on the urn.
In Raku firing each piece of pottery is taken from the kiln red hot, the molten glaze silken and glowing. Then it is placed in a bed of straw or leaves in an air-tight container. The dry plant material immediately bursts into flame and the “reduction chamber” is sealed. The flame and the smoking, oxygen starved atmosphere transform the glaze surface creating the unique, seemingly ancient, colors and textures of raku. So each of our Raku fired urns is special and one of a kind.
These items are generally made-to-order. However, we are often able finish and deliver the urn within a timeframe, so if you need the cremation urn by a specific date please contact us and we can help determine what arrangements need to be made, we will notify you within 3 business days to determine if we can fulfill urgent availability. As ceramic urns are hand-made, there may be slight, minor variations between what is pictured and what you receive.
