The Carved Villanovan Ceramic Cremation Urn has a tall, classical form modeled after the pottery of the ancient Villanovan culture of northern Italy. Handbuilt from earthenware clay using the coil technique, this lovely urn features unique patterns of carved designs based actual found pottery of the Villanovan period and a distinctive handle extending from the body of the urn.

A special Terra Cotta clay that has fine particles of Mica is used to make the funeral urn, and the surface is finished with many fine layers of Terra Sigillata (a very refined clay slip), gracefully polished to create a soft sheen.
