This lovely Garden Theme Handmade Ceramic Urn is designed with budding roses, dragonflies, leaves, and other elements of nature to honor the life of a horticulturist, gardener, or nature lover. A classical ceramic urn shape with handles, the artist made individual molds of leaves, flowers and insects to use in creating the imagery. Crafted by hand in the state of Washington.
Small, detailed porcelain molded leaves, flowers, beetles and dragon flies were made and arranged around the top of the funeral urn and the lid for a sprightly decoration. After the sculptural work was completed the dragonfly urn was bisque fired and painted with undercolorants. The main color for the body was chosen and a lush, realistic palette of colors was selected around a natural blue. Great attention to detail is taken in the process of painting to achieve compelling illusion. The soft satin matte glaze finish is reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century in America.
As each urn is individually handmade, the design is unique. These ceramic urns are generally made-to-order, so please allow up to 6 weeks for your urn to be shipped. Often, we can finish and deliver sooner, but if you need the cremation urn by a specific date please contact us and we can help determine what arrangements need to be made.
You may order this beautiful nature-themed ceramic urn in a several different sizes to suit your need; we offer Standard (180 cubic inches), Large (220 c.i.), Companion or Double Urn (375 c.i.). The general rule to follow when figuring size is that 1 lb. healthy body weight equals 1 cubic inch of cremated remains; thus, a 180 lb. individual would need a 180 cubic inch funeral urn.
