Ceramic Urns for Ashes

Crafted by Skilled Artisans
A ceramic vessel is a timeless and classic choice for a cremation urn memorial. None of the items in our ceramic urn collection are mass produced - each is made individually with unique characteristics and inimitable style.
Most of our ceramic items are individually made by a Washington State ceramic artist. These pieces are shaped, spun, colored, accented with designs or embellishments, and fired in a kiln using different firing techniques, all by hand with the deft touch of a master artisan.
Ranging in style from simple and elegant to richly detailed in antique shapes, our robust collection of ceramic urns presents an array of choices for you to select the memorial urn that is just right for your loved one.
Style: Raku cremation urns
One style that we've found is much-beloved among our customers is the "Raku" style of ceramic art urns. Raku is a type of traditional pottery in the Japanese culture, characterized by hand-shaped ceramic pieces put into a red-hot kiln with combustible materials that results in unique and surprising finishes. Our artist produces several styles of Raku finish, including the classic "crackle" look as well as the always-stunning copper flashing effect.
Our Raku urns are made with a variety of designs, the most popular of which has been our Dragonfly urn. Among others, you'll find maple leaves, Celtic dragons, fern leaves, blackberries, butterflies, and even customizable Asian calligraphy.
Style: Ceramic urn vase
Most of our ceramic urns are in the traditional urn vase shape. This design is a rounded vessel with a small flat base, expanding outward as you trace the lines up, then narrowing again at the top where the lid rests upon the lip of the urn's opening. This is a classic, recognizable ceramic urn shape.
Style: Unique urn designs

Sizes
Our ceramic urns come in wide variety of sizes. The standard adult urn holds around 200 cubic inches of human ashes, which is the typical amount of ashes of an adult weighing up to about 200 lbs.
Most of our urns are available in a standard adult size, with options for different sizes that include:
- Keepsake urns. These typically hold just a portion of the remains, from a teaspoon up to 1/8 or 1/4 of the total.
- Companion urns. With a capacity of 350-400 cubic inches, these are designed to hold the remains of two people.
- Large urns. These feature an above-average capacity, usually around 220 cubic inches or more.
- Ceramic pet urns. Sized around 40-100 cubic inches, these are designed to hold the remains of a beloved pet.
