The Celtic Dragon Raku Ceramic Cremation Urn is a handcrafted ceramic memorial urn with an intertwined Celtic Dragon pattern on the front. Each art piece is individually and uniquely made to order in the USA.

Raku is a traditional ancient Japanese firing process in which each piece of pottery is taken from the kiln red hot, the molten glaze silken and glowing. Then it is placed in a bed of straw or leaves in an air-tight container. The dry plant material immediately bursts into flame, and the “reduction chamber” is sealed. The flame and the smoking, oxygen-starved atmosphere transform the glaze surface, creating raku's unique, seemingly ancient colors and textures. So each of our Raku-fired urns is special and one of a kind.

My husband died recently. He loved all things Celtic - especially the music and dragons. I saw this urn and knew he would have chosen it. It sits in a prominent spot with a dragon watching over.

    Generally Satisfied

The product took a few weeks longer than expected to deliver, but looks very nice. I am happy with the colors, and although I was at first concerned about some hair-line cracks in the finish, I was told that this is a normal feature of Raku fired pottery. All in all, it is a fine looking urn.
