Six-Sided Tent-Form Soda-Fired Ceramic Urn
Paddled and hand-formed by a talented American ceramic artist, this one-of-a-kind cremation urn features a striking six-sided (hexagonal) "tent" profile capped with a peaked, finial-topped lid. Crafted from stoneware, the vessel’s clay body was initially layered with a crackled and scored slip (liquid clay) to create deep tactile texturing.
During the soda firing process, atmospheric vapor and wood fire responded dynamically with the glazes, giving rise to rich copper and cobalt blues, soft sage greens, and dark atmospheric flashings. A black cord loops over the top lid finial, channels down the sides through base eyelets, and ties securely against the underside. Protective felt feet are attached to the base to protect display surfaces.
The urn in the picture will be the one you receive.
