The Water Biodegradable Classic Sand & Gelatin Urn is crafted from sustainable materials, combining sand and gelatin to create a respectful and environmentally conscious option for honoring loved ones. Each urn is hand-painted by skilled artisans, with some featuring real beach sand or crushed quartz on the outer surface, adding a personal touch. Designed with practicality in mind, these urns have holes in the bottom to allow water to enter quickly, causing them to float briefly before gently sinking when placed in water.

Includes a biodegradable bag for the cremated remains, which seals without glue—simply remove the lid, lightly moisten the inner rim, and replace the lid to secure it. Made with vegetable-based gelatin, the urns are environmentally friendly.

They are shipped in a sturdy, custom protective box, making transport straightforward and discreet. Both the box and urn are approved for airport security and fit in the overhead compartments of most commercial aircraft.

When buried, the urn will biodegrade within approximately three months. When placed in water, it will naturally break down within four hours, offering a respectful and eco-friendly method of remembrance.

Usage

• Place the remains into the included water-soluble plastic bag, then remove the lid and place it into the urn. Carefully moisten the inside lip and replace the lid, and the urn will seal itself.
• Water burial: designed with holes in the bottom of the urn, to float briefly then descend to biodegrade within about 4 hours
• Ground burial: biodegrades within 3 months
• Federal regulations require that all containers used for burials at sea be placed no closer than 3 nautical miles from shore. For more info, click here.
