Extra Large Painted Poplar Wood Turned Urn 10
The artist skillfully handcrafted this beautiful, unique urn from a salvaged piece of Poplar wood. The process began with shaping the wood, followed by stabilizing any imperfections, and then meticulously sanding the surface. The interior was carefully hollowed out to a thickness of approximately 3/8 inch. A fluid acrylic paint mixture featuring metallic blues, purples, and hints of white was then applied to the urn. After this layer cured, a combination of metallic black and gold was poured from the top, creating a 'star' effect. Once the paint was fully cured, the urn was coated with a dozen layers of lacquer to achieve a brilliant, durable finish. The urn is completed with a threaded lid.
