The Boxwood is our flagship combination of economy and premium woodcraft. Using thick and hearty hardwood of your choice, the Boxwood Cremation Urn is built by Oregonian artisans in the USA with skill and precision, yet priced to be affordable for any situation. The simple design, with elegant lines laser etched around the sides, highlights the artistry and elegance of the craftsmanship. The individual grain patterns of the wood will vary, giving each piece a unique feel while providing you with a solid wood, American-made memorial fitting for your loved one.

We can engrave any text, such as name, dates, and brief inscription, into the surface on the top or front of the wooden urn. Select options above. Additionally, we offer smaller "keepsake urns" in the same elegant Boxwood shape and design. This is ideal when the remains are shared among family members. Each keepsake urn holds up to 55 cubic inches of ashes, and boasts identical craftsmanship and construction in a smaller size.

FAQ

Q: What is a sharing keepsake urn?

A: A sharing keepsake urn is just a smaller urn, but it is intended for use when "sharing" the ashes among family members. Usually, the sharing keepsake urns are designed to look just like the "regular" urn. Some families will divide the remains equally, while others choose to use an urn such as the Boxwood for the majority of the ashes, then share just a small token amount among family. It's up to you how you would like to arrange the final disposition, and we have designed the Boxwood Cremation Urn package so that you can easily divide the remains into portions as you see fit, or just use the standard sized urn.

Q: How do we divide the ashes?

A: Often you can ask the funeral home to do it for you, and they will easily and happily divide, transfer, and secure the remains inside the urn and keepsakes. If you need to divide the remains yourself, we recommend using a plastic bag to secure the ashes in each portion. Then, removing the screws which hold the bottom panel onto the urn or keepsake urn, place the bag inside and secure the panel on again. This way you can measure out the ashes as you see fit all at once, then ship out the urn to the recipient or share with family members as they arrive in town.

Beautiful wooden urn but screws in bottom of box were not screwed in properly

The wooden urn was beautiful as was the subscription but it was not large enough to hold the box of ashes from the funeral home so we had to place only the plastic bag in the urn. Additionally, the screws to hold in the bottom of the urn were off mark and two of the screws did not go through the wooden sides as intended so we're not sure the bottom will hold in the ashes.

We do not like hearing that anyone is disappointed in our urns as we seek to do our best. This urn isn't designed to fit the temporary urns, there are a few we offer that do and they are described with the interior dimensions for that purpose. Most urns are designed to hold the bag of cremains.

With the hole alignment, we wonder if the funeral home flipped the front and back of the base as the holes may not have lined up correctly if so. Please contact us if there is an issue with the base. Thank you.

Above and beyone

I was truly impressed with the customer service provided by Urns Northwest. I called and no one answered, while still on the website I used their online chat and there was immediate response. I said I just called and no one answered. They replied “that’s because we were on the phone with another customer”. The chat agent took my number and in a minute or two got a phone call.

Their urns are customized and built to order and they worked really hard to get the urn I wanted from the West coast to PA in time.

I felt like Urns NW really cared and it was nice to feel like (because I was) dealing with real people.

I am sorry if you have to read this because you are purchasing and urn. The people at urn NW will make it easy for you.
