Glass blowing is a delicate process that creates completely unique designs of coloration. The artist can control the output to some extent, but the true beauty and attraction found in glass cremation urns is the element of the unexpected. These are true treasures, and a beautiful way to honor your beloved.

Glass Urns for Ashes
Our glass urns are designed to hold the ashes of an adult who weighed up to about 220 lbs. The capacity for each urn is 220 cubic inches, which is approximately the size you need for the body weight of a 220 pound person.
Each design is also available in smaller sizes, from tiny keepsake urns and smaller urns (roughly 100 cubic inches) all the way up to a 400 cubic inch "companion urn" which can hold the ashes of two people.
Hand Blown Glass Urns
Our glass cremation urns are hand blown individually and to order in the USA by skilled artisans.
Production time is typically 1-2 days (business days, so please account for weekends and holidays), though there are times where we can accommodate rush orders and other times where production might take as long as 3 days.
Glass Urn Vase
The shape of our glass urns can rightly be described as a vase. While each design has a slightly different shape and can be blown in several different color themes, the form of each glass memorial is in a traditional glass urn vase shape. This is a round, upright container made entirely of blown glass with a hollow interior to hold the cremated remains. Combining American-made craftsmanship and artistry, our glass urns are the perfect choice to honor the memory of your loved one.
The Beauty of Glassblowing
The artist begins by heating glass until it is molten, maintaining a temperature of roughly 2200 degrees (Fahrenheit). The molten glass is gathered together and formed at a workbench using wooden and steel tools. The artist then begins spinning the glass, slowly and consistently, creating the first hints of the rounded vase shape of the urn.
As the initial ball of glass grows to the proper size, the glass is affixed to a five-foot long "punty" stick, a steel glass blower's pipe. At this point, the color is added using colored glass chips known as "frits". This is where each swirl of color on the final urn is introduced.
Throughout this slow process, the glass is worked and then continually re-heated to maintain its molten and workable state. Once all the colors have been added, the artist then works with their hands to create patterns and designs.
At this point, with the glass still being spun on the end of the punty stick, the blowing begins. The heat of the glass causes the breath inside the urn to expand, and the piece begins to grow in size. While one artist blows, another spins the stick with one hand and shapes the urn with another. This process continues until the glass urn nears its final shape, at which point it is removed from the original punty stick and placed on another, allowing the artist to add the final finishing touches.
The last step is to place the urn into an annealing space, where the glass urn slowly cools for about 24 hours. Your custom handmade and hand blown glass urn is now ready to ship to your door.
