Sunrise Maple Turned Urn 46

Crafted from solid Ambrosia Maple, this vessel features distinctive grain patterns and plenty of character. The lid is made from solid maple, dyed black, and fitted with wooden threads for a secure closure. The inside is hand-painted black for a finished look that balances the piece. The exterior is coated with multiple layers of satin urethane for durability and longevity, then hand-polished and buffed to a lovely sheen.

The Sunrise Series is one that has graceful lines and a fine flowing curve. It is a design that I developed to capture the beauty of the long grain on the side of the vessel, but also the skewed end grain at the top, where the curve bends across the fibers. Topped off with two decorative grooves, this piece is truly magnificent, much like a beautiful sunrise.
