Handcrafted Dragonfly Raku Ceramic Cremation Urn
This simple and elegant Dragonfly Raku Ceramic Cremation Urn is hand-thrown in the Raku fire process. Raku is a traditionally an ancient Japanese firing process used in the production of stoneware, and with the beautiful glaze finish and your choice of color scheme this ceramic urn is a beautiful memorial urn for your loved one.
In Raku firing each piece of pottery is taken from the kiln red hot, the molten glaze silken and glowing. Then it is placed in a bed of straw or leaves in an air-tight container. The dry plant material immediately bursts into flame, and the “reduction chamber” is sealed. The flame and the smoking, oxygen-starved atmosphere transform the glaze surface, creating raku's unique, seemingly ancient colors and textures. Thus, each of our one-of-a-kind Raku-fired funeral urns is unique in the particulars of the design and glaze finish.
As these ceramic urns are generally made-to-order, please times for production.
Notes
**Colors and finish vary considerably.** While the shape of the urn and any design will be the same as what you see pictured above, the actual patterns of coloration on the urn's surface will be unique to each piece, making it a one-of-a-kind memorial.
