Memorial tree urns offer a life-affirming way to celebrate and honor your loved one through planting and growing a tree. When your loved one's remains are planted as a memorial tree, you will relive the memories you shared together each spring as you see the Dogwood tree open its petals to herald in a new season of life with its pure-white blossoms.

The Japanese have often used this precious tree in their art, highlighting the gracefully crooked limbs filling with blossoms that redound with beauty and serenity. Your loved one will thrive forever on the canvas of this world they left behind, as every year they come forth with beauty and promise to impress the world around them.

These lovely cremation urns contain Dogwood tree seeds in the lid along with an unique mix that aids in the release of beneficial plant nutrients found in cremated ashes. By themselves, cremated remains are harmful to plants’ health and well-being. However, by planting our tree memorial urn with your loved one’s cremated ashes, you cultivate a mixture that nourishes and sustains your memorial tree. The urn planter comes inside a beautiful keepsake tin, which can be used after planting the tree as a keepsake memorial chest for letters, trinkets, photos, and more.

**Note: These are very small urns, designed to hold only a small amount of ashes (35 cubic inches). If you are planning to use all of the remains in planting memorial trees, figure 1 cubic inch per 1 pound of body weight. So a 175 lb individual would require 5 of these biodegradable memorial tree urns (175 lbs / 35 cubic inches = 5 urns). An additional option is to use one memorial tree urn, and scatter the remainder of the ashes nearby.**

FAQ

Q: I live in zone 7 and was wondering if it's best to plant this Dogwood in the fall or spring?

A: It's best to plant the Dogwood in the fall; it takes the winter for the seeds to germinate and then it should begin shooting up in the spring. Talk to a local garden professional to find out specific tips for your region, but generally fall planting means spring growth. :)

Q: What if I plant the tree urn and it doesn't grow?

A: Since the urn includes everything the tree seed needs to grow strong and healthy, we're confident that the tree will grow. However, should something happen and the tree does not grow, we will send you your choice of new seeds or an actual sapling you can re-plant at the burial site, which will utilize the buried remains and urn components to nourish the newly planted tree or seeds.

Q: Where are the Dogwood seeds located?

A: The seeds are embedded into the lid of the burial urn. To plant, take off the lid, insert remains, place the lid back on, and bury to recommended depth (generally, the top of the urn should be covered by about 1 inch of dirt).
